Senior Network Engineer

Washington, DC - Hybrid

The Senior Network Engineer role at ATL Advisory is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting the network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security. As a senior network engineer, you will be instrumental in working with multiple cross-functional teams as well as multiple inter-departmental stakeholders to help with project delivery and troubleshoot various network-related issues.

We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer for a Federal financial client who has the ability to work on multiple projects but to also help with operations and maintenance activities should the need arise. The Senior Network Engineer role will work on 2-5 concurrent projects based on complexity and will work with other cross-functional technical teams to drive successful project delivery in partnership with the Federal client network architect. In addition to project delivery, the Senior Network Engineer will work closely with Emergency Action teams to troubleshoot and address network outages and/or issues related to various operations and maintenance activities.

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.

  • 10+ years of experience in network engineering or a similar role

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, etc.)

  • Experience working in a PaaS and IaaS environment using Azure, AWS or Google Cloud

  • Proficiency in configuring firewalls, switches, and routers

  • Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark)

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance

Nice-to-Haves:

  • ITIL Certification

  • Prior experience working in a Financial or Banking organization

  • Scripting experience (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation

  • Experience working with Okta, Zscaler, Oracle, WebLogic, Cloudflare, or any combination thereof

  • Prior experience with migrating an organization from on-prem to a cloud infrastructure

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum or SaFE environment
